Correlation of human figure and tree drawings

This bachelor thesis deals with the figure drawing test and the tree test from the projective point of view, based on the books written by Zdeněk Altman. I focus on the interconnection between these two kinds of drawings. The thesis contains the basic characteristics of these two methods and discussion about their scientific basis. I describe the process of using the books as manuals for drawing analysis. This thesis also contains results of drawing analysis and characterization of their authors. Fifteen adolescents placed in a children's home participated in research. In conclusion, I address the correlation of both drawings.

Validity of drawing as a projective test The subject of this work is to investigate the relationship between a projective method, I specifically chose the Tree Test, and the Personality Questionnaire MMPI-2. The research question is as follows: What is the correlation between the clinical scales of the Personality Questionnaire MMPI-2 and the projective Tree Drawing Test? Both tests were assigned to adolescents from children's homes. I found statistically significant correlations in paranoia, hypochondria, hysteria and psychasthenia among men, I also looked for matches between individual clinical scales and the Tree Drawing in individual case reports. Unlike the research I present in my work, I have found areas where the projective Tree Drawing Test could correspond to personality characteristics as approached by the Personality Questionnaire MMPI-2.

Expressions of negative time perspective in adolescence

The Bachelor thesis tries to look at the problem of time perspective from the point of view of qualitative research and to find out how time perspective will be manifested in the testimonies of individuals about their own life or the life of strangers. The theoretical part focuses on the introduction of time perspective and its research. It also describes the reason for researching time perspective in adolescence and describes several influential theories about time perspective. They are the personality-motivational concept by J. Nuttin, the theory of the future perspective by T. Gjesme and the theory of perspective orientation by I. Pavelková. Most attention is devoted to P. Zimbardo's theory, which is also the basis for the carried-out research. The empirical part focuses mainly on the presentation of results from the research. It was done in several grammar schools in Prague, where students filled out a time perspective questionnaire (ZTPI) and two other questionnaires that were not used in this work. Several selected students were then interviewed using the Thematic-apperception test (TAT) and the Lifeline test.
